About Hertel Insurors Group

Founded in 1996, Hertel Insurors Group continues to provide its clients with the knowledge, services and products needed to reduce their total cost of insurance risk.

With offices in Austin, Ft. Worth and Lubbock, you can expect our insurance consultants to manage all of your insurance needs. We are prepared to act as your single source, providing advice, products and plans to improve the direction and leadership of your risk management team.

As a partner of the Insurors Group, our goal is to provide our clients with a plan that results in long-term risk reduction, maximized profits and continuity of business.

 

Our Personnel

Denise Callahan
Receptionist
Denise joined our office in August 2008. She comes to us with over 15 years in the insurance industry and has dealt with personal lines, commercial lines, life, and health insurance. She brings valuable experience and knowledge to our front. She attended The University of Texas and Austin Community College.
Mitch Elengold
Commercial Lines Producer
Mitch joined the Hertel Team in 1996 through a partnership between Hertel & Associates, Inc. and Wm. Rigg Co. His extensive insurance knowledge and experience has spanned the last 25 years, as he has worked as both an underwriter and an agent.

Mitch’s expertise has given him the opportunity to work with some of Austin’s most prestigious accounts during the last decade. He has developed a niche for both large restaurants and contractors, having served on the Board of Directors for the American Subcontractors Association of Austin for the last 12 years.
Elizabeth Franks, CISR
Commercial Account Manager
In the early 1970’s, Elizabeth began her insurance career working in an Allstate sales office in Houston, dealing primarily with personal lines insurance. She was then transferred to Dallas where she worked in their claims office.

Elizabeth moved to California in 1977 and started working for a commercial lines agency. Initially, she handled claims and then became an account manager, working with the agents and servicing their clients and their policies. She worked for several agencies handling a variety of clients, such as contractors/artisans, restaurants, fast food chains, electronic companies, and architects and engineers.

Elizabeth moved back to Texas in 1999 and has worked in our Commercial Lines Department since 2002. She continues to do a great job servicing a widely diverse group of clients.

Elizabeth is a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) and a General Lines Agent - Property & Casualty
Bonnie Frizzell
Commercial Account Manager
In 2003 Bonnie began her insurance career selling and servicing a variety of personal lines coverage. She has now begun the task of managing and developing our small accounts department and has been instrumental in streamlining the our operations to better serve our clients.

Bonnie is a General Lines Agent - Property & Casualty, and has an Associates degree in Psychology.
Allyson Hertel
Benefits Producer
Allyson began working for us in February 2006 after leaving her job as a product developer for Seiko Instruments. She began with us in electronic documentation and she is now heading up our benefits division. She is our go to person when it comes to anything related to health and life insurance. Allyson attended Texas Tech University and earned a B.S. in Retailing.
Bill Hertel, CIC, CRM, CWCS
Commercial Lines Producer
Commercial Insurance Counselor, Certified Risk Manager, Licensed Risk Manager, Certified, Workers’ Comp Advisor

Bill began his insurance career in 1975 with Texas Employers Insurance, the originator of workers’ compensation in Texas. After partnering up with an Austin insurance agency, Bill took a leap of faith by purchasing his book of business and venturing off on his own. He was joined by his loyal staff and insurance carriers and opened Hertel & Associates, Inc. in 1994.

Bill’s forte has been niche marketing and is the originator and lead agent of a successful workers’ compensation safety group, AgriComp™, serving the agriculture industry in Texas and endorsed by the Texas Grain and Feed Association.

Bill has served several times on the advisory council for Texas Mutual Insurance Company and as President of the Insurors Group, ranked as the 31st largest privately owned agency in the country at this writing date.

Bill has enjoyed large-format photography since high school, and a portion of his art can be viewed at www.billhertel.com.

Bill attended Texas Christian University, earning a B.S. degree in Business Administration. He is a General Lines Agent - Property & Casualty; and Managing General Agent - Property & Casualty as well as Life. He also sells Accident, Health & HMO and is a Licensed Risk Manager.
Landon Hertel, CLCS
V.P. of Operations
While attending classes at Texas Tech University, Landon made himself available to our Lubbock office, taking care of any technology issues that arose. After leaving Lubbock, he attended the Hartford School of Insurance in Chicago and began working full-time as a commercial producer at our office in Austin. He has since taken on the job of managing all of our locations and providing direction for the smooth operations of all our systems.

Landon attended Texas Tech University and the Hartford School of Insurance (Chicago, IL). He is a General Lines Agent - Property & Casualty and a Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS).
Blake Oliver, CLCS
Commercial Lines Producer
A Louisiana native Blake Oliver has chosen Austin, Texas as his home. After graduating from Louisiana State University, Blake joined the ranks of the Hertel Insurors Group team. He attended the Hartford School of Insurance where he expanded his knowledge of commercial insurance. He has also received the designation of CLCS, Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist. Blake comes from a very broad field of knowledge which gives him a leg up in many different fields.

Blake attended Louisiana State University and the Hartford School of Insurance. He is a General Lines Agent – Property & Casualty and Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS).
Laura Pearcy
Executive Assistant
Book Keeping
Laura began with us in the Spring of 2008. She handles most of the accounting and book keeping as well as assisting management with operation goals. She graduated with a B.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Ann Hyatt, CISR
Commercial Account Manager
Private Client Group
Ann began her insurance career more than twenty years ago as a receptionist for a local Austin agency. Soon after she started, she was trained in accounting and then joined Bill Hertel in the agriculture department. She has worked with Hertel ever since; and as a result of her good work, now heads up our large account division. Ann is a General Lines Agent - Property & Casualty and is a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR).
Linda Troutman, ACSR
Commercial Account Manager
Linda worked for Employers Insurance Company for fifteen years and was hired by an Austin agency in 1990. She joined our group in 1996 when Wm. Rigg and Bill Hertel partnered to form Hertel Rigg, LLP. Linda works with a variety of clients in our commercial lines department, and we are happy to celebrate the many years she has been part of the Hertel team.

Linda is a General Lines Agent - Property & Casualty and is an Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR).
