Answers
Can I pay my premiums online?

Do
I have to pay my premiums up front and in full?
-
Every insurance policy premium is due at the inception
of the policy. In an effort to distribute the insurance
cost more evenly over the span of the policy term, Hertel
Insurors Group will finance your premiums for you. In
some cases, the insurance carrier may offer installment
billing with little or no service fee.

What
determines the cost of my insurance?
-
The cost of your insurance premium is based on a number
of factors including, but not limited to the following:
rate filings of individual insurance carriers, class of
business of an insured, loss history, property condition,
radius of operations, and quality of operations. After
these items are taken into consideration, exposure basis
including payrolls, sales, values and number/type of vehicles
will cause your premium to increase or decrease.

Who
sets the cost of my insurance program?
-
The first line of attack to keep your insurance cost
to a minimum is the choice of insurance agency. Our first
job is to not sell you, but rather to present your insurance
in the best possible light to the insurance company. Quality
proposals like those created by the Insurors Group go
a long way to create a positive image with prospective
insurance carriers. At that point, the pricing process
is in the hands of the underwriters.

What
is the role of the Licensed Risk Manager?
-
The role of the Licensed Risk Managers at Hertel Insurors
Group is to work with you to lower your total cost of
risk and to make you more attractive to the insurance
marketplace. Lowering your total cost of risk may not
always mean lowering premiums; it also points to our combined
efforts to identify, analyze and control risks.

Why
pick one agent over another?
-
Anyone can copy information from a current policy, get
loss runs and make a submission to an insurance carrier
they represent. Knowledge and creativity separates the
Insurors Group from the rest of the pack. Our agents have
been trained to delve deeper in detecting ways to analyze
and underwrite their clients’ accounts.

Can
the Hertel Agencies provide coverage nationwide?
-
The structure and size of the Insurors Group allows us
to represent a vast number of carriers offering a wide
range of insurance products. It doesn’t matter if
you have operations in Texas, Puerto Rico or Asia, we
have the carriers to access coverage for you.

What
else can the Hertel Agencies provide me besides insurance?
-

added services ranging from human resource programs to
employee safety modules. Each agent will design a service
program based on the size, sophistication and desires
of individual clients.

What
is the fastest way to get certificates of insurance?
-
While we always welcome e-mails, faxes and telephone
calls for same day certificate issuance, we find that
many of our clients enjoy using Access 24/7 , our on line
certificate program.

What
role does the Account Manager play in my insurance program?
-
Although your insurance advisor is always available for
servicing your account, you are going to find that the
day to day activities will be handled by one of our knowledgeable
Account Managers . Each AM is trained in our Risk Reduction
Approach™ methods and is ready to handle all of
your insurance service needs.

Why
does continuing education matter for my agent?
-
One thing we learn as insurance advisors is that there
is no end to the learning process of products and service
methodology in the insurance industry. Hertel Insurors
Group spends large sums of money to learn to be the best
at what we do so that we can in turn teach others. We
feel that by being experts in our industry, we can help
make our insureds better business owners.

What
are “markets”?

What
does the underwriter look at when considering and pricing
my business insurance?
-
Underwriters first consider if a prospective account
falls in their appetite guidelines. If so, other considerations
may include: age and construction of buildings, location
of operations, loss history, quality of management, radius
of operations, size of account along with a variety of
other factors.

Why
do I need to provide my agent with so much information during
underwriting?

Why
might my premiums go up?
-
Premiums can be affected for a multitude of reasons.
The first step any insured can take to help keep loses
down is to establish a well-run risk management program.
A company with a low frequency of claims will always fare
well in any market situation. There are situations beyond
any insurance buyers’ control that can also affect
pricing. Natural disasters and terrorist attacks, for
example, along with poor experience in certain classes
of business, will always affect the pricing and appetite
of insurance carriers.

What
types of insurance do the Hertel Agencies write?

What
makes one agency better than another?
-
We strive to be the best agency by providing services
that make our clients feel as though they have a risk
manager, human resource advisor and claims advocate on
staff. The large number of current clients who do not
entertain other proposals during our tenure as agent speaks
well to the quality of service Hertel Insurors Group is
providing their customers.

Why
does size matter in insurance?
-
The size of an agency should not be the definitive reason
to go with one agency over another. However, as the twenty-sixth
largest agency in the country as published by the Insurance
Journal, our Insurors Group has the synergy to support
a much larger reserve of insurance carriers and value
added services not available or affordable by smaller
agencies.

What
are the advantages of the AgriComp Program?
-
Hertel Insurors Group is the originator and sole provider
of AgriComp , a workers’ compensation safety group
endorsed by the Texas Grain and Feed Association . This
program is available to most non-associate members of
the TGFA and has reduced the total cost of risk for the
individual companies participating by about twenty-five
percent.

Where
can I find definitions of insurance terms?

Who
do I contact if I have an after-hours emergency?

How
do I request auto-id cards and certificates of insurance?
-
While we always welcome e-mails, faxes and telephone
calls for same day certificate issuance, we find that
many of our clients enjoy using Access 24/7 , our on line
certificate program.

Why
might it take some time to receive my policies?
-
Hertel Insurors Group consistently urges our carriers
to provide timely issuance of policies. However, we may
receive policy renewals anywhere from one month before
to two months after renewals. Once received in our office,
our Account Managers review policies and prepare them
for delivery as quickly as possible.

What
is the best way to contact my Account Manager?

How
quickly will my request by fulfilled?
-
Every effort is made to process your request within twenty-four
hours. If binders and/or certificates need immediate attention,
please advise your Account Manager of its urgency, and
we will be happy to provide same day processing.
